The Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL, President Kim Se-jong) announced on the 12th that it had signed a 'business agreement for the promotion of the IT industry and the development of the local software (SW) industry' with the Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency (President Ja-rok Koo).< /p>

The two organizations also held a signboard ceremony to designate Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency as a KTL mark certification evaluation agency along with the signing ceremony. KTL mark certification is a self-certification mark that has been in effect since 2017 in order for KTL to leap into a global certification body.

The MOU includes ▲IT/SW field testing, certification/evaluation project and quality support project ▲SW quality activation such as SW field manpower training ▲Technical support project for nurturing IT/SW-related companies.

In addition, KTL designated Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency as the fifth KTL Mark Certification Evaluation Agency, following Jeonnam Technopark, Daegu Digital Industry Promotion Agency, Jeonju Information Culture Industry Promotion Agency, and Dong-Eui University Busan IT Convergence Parts Research Institute.

Accordingly, Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency directly conducts the evaluation for KTL mark certification and has a system in which KTL can issue a certificate based on the evaluation result.

KTL expects that local IT/SW-related companies will receive performance and quality certifications for software products, thereby contributing to enhancing the quality competitiveness of software products and revitalizing the local software industry.

KTL President Sejong Kim said, “With this agreement and designation of KTL Mark Certification Evaluation Agency, we will provide SW-related certificates to meet the needs of companies and actively cooperate in improving the quality of software for local companies. Through this, we will support the growth of domestic companies.”
